Most recently, he was a partner at the United Talent Agency and led UTA Ventures, which includes the flagship UTA.VC venture fund and UTA Venture Studios, which builds businesses in partnership with leading celebrities and influencers including Seth Rogen, Emma Chamberlain, Issa Rae, Ryan Seacrest and others. He served on the board of a number of private companies with leading investors including Antenna, Rembrand, and Music Infra. Prior to UTA, Sam was EVP & GM of Enterprise at Maker Studios, which was acquired by Disney for over $500 million. Before Maker Studios, he was SVP of Marketing & Programming at MySpace and VP of Strategy & Corporate Development at Platform-A, AOL's advertising business. Sam began his career at Sony's Columbia Records and went on to become VP of Content & Community at MP3.com where he managed 4 divisions of 40 people in programming, content acquisition, legal, business development, marketing and product. The role included oversight of Mp3.com's user base (over 12MM+) and artist community (100,000+ artists, 700,000 songs).
